Case Study

With nearly 10 acres under roof and 40,000 square feet of office space, FlightSafety International’s new facility in Broken Arrow, OK is massive. The high-tech plant manufactures aircraft flight simulators, visual systems and aeronautical displays.

The design/build project was completed by Crossland Construction Company, Columbus, KS on a fast-track schedule that began in June 2010 and was completed in May 2011. The structure was pre-cast and structural steel.

Citadel’s Envelope 2000® metal composite material (MCM) was used to clad the entryway area. The Gun Metal panels were installed using the Reveal (RV) System, a field assembled attachment method utilizing perimeter moldings.

Core Architects, Rogers, AR collaborated on the project. According to Robert Kelly, president of Core Architects, “Yes, it’s a huge industrial building but we wanted a clean, modern look for the entryway to the reception area and administrative offices. The Citadel panels really helped deliver that look.”

The Citadel sales representative on the project was J.D. Day & Company, Overland Park, KS.

Citadel Architectural Products, Inc. offers one of the most complete selections of cladding solutions in the industry. From high-end fabricated metal composite material (MCM) to field-assembled systems and glazing infill panels, Citadel provides value at all levels.
